I don’t remember when I had the first Garlic bread but I am sure that it was from Domino’s. We had a new outlet in our locality, the first of its own, after McDonald’s and our street food items got ‘westernized’ and I could see the choice-shift from typical Aloo chaat and Gole Gappe to Burgers and Pizzas. While a typical Indian food lover, the ‘Foodie’ inside me craves for all sorts of food and till I curated this air fryer version of Garlic bread, the Domino’s Garlic Bread was my favorite. Made with freshly grated garlic, dried oregano, red chili flakes, fresh green chilies, dunked in butter and cheese slices, religiously applied on sourdough artisan bread, and air fried for just 5 minutes- you get the perfectly browned, crispiest garlic bread! An ideal side dish or quick bite can be dunked into mushroom soup for any occasion. Ingredients

Bread of your choice- I have used local fresh sourdough bread. I have not used frozen bread as I personally love the aroma of fresh bread. While this recipe calls for fresh bread, it works well for frozen bread as well. You may need to air fry for 5-10 minutes more than the fresh bread times. Freshly Grated Garlic- This recipe uses freshly grated garlic. you may chop it as well. Butter- Salted butter works well and then you need not add any salt. Dried oregano- If you have fresh parsley, I suggest using that. I only had the option of dried ones as we don’t get fresh locally in India. Cheese slices- I have tried this with Parmesan, Mother dairy cheese slices and I loved both. This recipe uses cheese slices. Feel free to swap them for vegan cheese of your choice. Chili Flakes and green chilies (Pls note I love spicy version so adjust heat)

How To Make Air Fryer Garlic Bread

Step 1. Prepare the mixture

In a bowl, mix softened butter, freshly grated garlic, dried oregano, chili flakes, green chilies and Amul cheese slices until well combined. While you are prepping, Preheat the air fryer to 190°C for about 5 minutes.

Step 2. Spread the mixture

Generously apply the mixture over each slice of sourdough artisan bread.

Step 3. Air fry the bread

Place the prepared bread slices in the air fryer basket and cook for 5-7 minutes, or until the bread is crispy and the cheese is melted. Depending upon air fryer size and bread slices, you may want to do it in batches. I made in 3 batches. For the second batch onward, watch out closely as it takes little less than 5 minutes because air fryer is super hot.

Step 4. Serve hot

Remove the garlic bread from the air fryer and serve immediately while it’s hot and fresh.

Expert Tips

Watch closely towards the end of the cooking time to prevent burning. If cheese starts to overflow, use a piece of foil or parchment paper to catch drips and keep the air fryer clean. If the bread is too soft, increase the cooking time by a minute or two for added crispiness. It is recommended to consume immediately so that it doesn’t become soggy!
