Can I grate beetroot for halwa?
Yes, traditionally we grate beetroot for halwa but to save time I have finely chopped beetroot. Avoid bigger chunks of beetroot. For kids, you can even grind beetroot and prepare halwa.
Can I make a pressure cooker beetroot ka halwa?
Yes, you can make a pressure cooker or instant pot beetroot halwa. Saute beets and pressure cook in separator or release pressure manually then prepare halwa.
Can I reduce sugar?
Yes, adjust according to your sweetness. you can use jaggery/ brown sugar instead of white sugar.

Ingredients:
1 + 1/2 cup Beetroot (grated or finely chopped in the chopper) 3/4 cup sugar 2 cup + 1/2 cup Milk 3 tablespoon Ghee/Butter 1/8 teaspoon Cardamom Powder 10 Cashews
How to make beetroot halwa with step by step pictures:
Add ghee to the pan, when the ghee is hot, add cashew and roast till they are golden brown
Turn off the stove and keep cashew aside
In the same pan, add beetroot. Saute for around 3 minutes till the raw smell goes off
Add milk and allow it to boil in medium flame. Mix well and cook till the milk is absorbed and beetroot turns soft. it takes around 15 -2 0 minutes
Furthermore add sugar, cardamom powder and mix well
Cook for 3 minutes or till the sugar dissolves well
Add roasted cashews, ghee, milk and mix well
Cover and cook for 5 minutes or till the halwa comes together as a mass
