It’s that time of year again where the leaves are changing, we’re marking our calendars for our annual apple picking and corn maze Saturday, and football is on TV at every sports bar in America. But autumn also brings along something else — fall recipes! And today, I’m teaching you how to let your furry pals partake in all of the great flavors of the season with these candy corn pupsicles. These treats are made with four ingredients that your doggo will love. With three candy corn colored layers, they stay right on theme with the autumn festivities! They’re the cutest little Halloween dog treats.
Ingredients in these dog halloween treats
Your dog is in for quite the treat with this ingredient lineup, no pun intended. The items will make about 8 pupsicles with average-sized popsicle molds.
Yogurt: First, start with 1 cup of either low-fat or fat-free plain yogurt. See below for yogurt guidelines. Pumpkin Puree: Next, include 1 15-oz can of pumpkin puree. Be sure that you are not using pumpkin pie filling, which has a host of added ingredients. We just want pure pumpkin puree (here’s how to make your own!) Banana: Next, mash up 1 banana for using as the yellow part of the candy corn. Stick Ideas: Last but not least, choose your dog’s favorite stick shaped treat to use as the popsicle stick. Ideas include dog treats, carrot sticks, or celery!
Additional ingredient options
Some more options for halloween pupsicles include essentially anything safe for dogs like apples, bananas, blueberries, or strawberries! Of course, these won’t exactly fit into the candy corn color theme, but I have a hunch that your pup won’t mind.
A Note On Yogurt
