Falalala fall recipes are in full swing here at Fit Foodie Finds. We were at the apple orchard last weekend, and came home with the biggest bag of McIntosh apples. We’ll save some for snacks throughout the week, and made an apple crisp right when we got home, but still had enough to whip up a batch of this delicious crockpot applesauce. SO EASY. SO DELICIOUS. I also can’t get enough of the color of this applesauce. We were afraid it was going to come out a little too brown with the cinnamon, but it cooked down to this perfect dark fall color. Fridge
If you’re making the full batch of this crockpot applesauce and you’re not serving a crowd right away, the best way to store this applesauce is in the fridge in an air-tight container. And because it’s not packed with preservatives, it will keep for up to 5 days. The recipe here calls for 10 large apples, but depending on the size of your crockpot, and how many apples you have on hand, you could definitely cut this recipe in half, or double or triple it!
Freezer
You can also freeze this applesauce to keep it for a longer duration. Make sure to freeze in an air-tight container and label the container with applesauce and the date you freeze it. This crockpot applesauce will keep in the freezer for up to 3 months.
