What is compound butter?
Mixtures of butter and supplementary ingredients make flavorful, delicious combinations that are versatile for just about everything. These types of butter are used to enhance the flavor in dishes, eat on bread or veggies, and really just act as kind of like a sauce.

Ingredient Notes:
Butter: Use butter, not margarine here and make sure you soften it prior to using it. Aka leave it out on the counter until it’s room temperature. Spices & Herbs: Use fresh or dried and play with the combinations to find your favorite flavor profile. These kinds of butter can be a fantastic addition to just about anything. Nuts: Throw nuts in the mix or on top for a little crunch to your recipes.
How to make compound butter:

How do you make the compound butter into rolls? To make your compound butter into rolls, after whisking, place onto parchment paper and form a cylinder shape. Gently roll the cylinder over to completely cover the parchment paper. Lightly roll to create a uniform shape. Wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate until set. (For the cinnamon-sugar butter, refrigerate slightly, unwrap and roll in chopped pecans and refrigerate again). To serve, unwrap and cut the ends off to create a clean cylinder. Serving: Serve your butter with any of your favorite bread, muffins, biscuits, or croissants!
