The base sugar cookie recipe that I used today is chewy, with a crisp, buttery edge, and a soft center. It’s a phenomenal recipe on its own, only made better (in my opinion) with the colorful, sweet addition of Fruit Pebbles. Of course if you’re looking for a more traditional sugar cookie recipe try my Easy No Chill Sugar Cookies!

Adding Fruity Pebbles To Cookies Is An Easy Way To Add Flavor!

I know you don’t need me to sell you on sugar cookies, we can all agree that they’re the best. BUT adding Fruity pebbles to an already delicious cookie adds a sweet, slightly citrus flavor as well as a chewy, crispy element to the cookie! Even if you are someone who doesn’t like Fruit Pebbles, I’m sure you will still really enjoy these. The Fruity Pebbles flavor is there, but it’s scaled down…just enough to taste, but not to overpower. PRO TIP: I add vanilla extract in these cookies to keep them classic, but you can also add a little bit of lemon extract if you would really like to play up the fruity flavor!

Can You Add In Any Cereal?

You can add a variety of cereals to this cookie recipe, although I would avoid any cereal that has large pieces. In that case you will want to chop them so they are a little smaller and will bake into the cookie nicely. Here are a few other ideas:

Cocoa Pebbles. You can add a chocolatey spin on these cookies by using Cocoa Pebbles.Froot Loops. This will give you a similar flavor to the Fruity Pebbles, but you will want to chop them a little so the pieces are smaller.Apple Jacks. These would work great, but like the Froot Loops, I would suggest chopping them.Trix. A rough chop will work on these!Cap’n Crunch. These will work, but also a rough chop.

Can You Freeze Sugar Cookies?

These cookies freeze great! Just make sure they are airtight. Freeze them for up to 30 days for best freshness!
