Published 7/25/2016 • Updated 3/17/2024 This Peach Gouda Grilled Cheese is the perfect adult-style cheese sandwich. Gooey gouda cheese + caramelized roasted peaches is truly one of the best combinations I’ve ever tried. The best part about this recipe is that you can make multiple at once because it’s all made on a baking sheet. First, roast your peaches and onion to get them nice and caramelized. Then, prep your gouda grill cheeses on the baking sheet and then give them a quick broil in the oven.
What You Need for Peach and Gouda Grilled Cheese
Peaches: We roasted them in the oven to give them a flavor boost. The heat makes them sweeter and brings out yummy hints you might not taste when they’re raw. It’s like turning them into candy, but healthier! Honey: We drizzled honey on top of the peaches to caramelize on top, bringing out even more sweetness and a depth of flavor. Bread: we used a seedy bread, but you can also try sourdough or whole wheat. Gouda Cheese: Its rich, nutty flavor and slight caramel undertones pairs perfectly with the sweetness from the honey and peaches. Balsamic Vinegar: This tangy condiment is my favorite way to top off this sweet and savory combo!
A Few Tips
We recommend toasting the bread before making this grilled cheese recipe. Toasted bread is best because it won’t get soggy as easily as un-toasted bread. Plus, gotta have that crunch! This recipe is meant to serve three people. If you’d like to make more sandwiches, double the recipe and use two baking sheets. Ripe peaches are best for this recipe as they have the most flavor.
Storage
The only thing we recommend storing in this recipe is the baked peaches. These can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 5 days, so you can make this sandwich over and over again!
