Green smoothies have gotten a bad wrap. Expected to be grassy and bitter, they are expected to taste “healthy”. And while this smoothie is healthy, it definitely doesn’t taste bitter or grassy. With the addition of pineapple, mango, and banana this smoothie is sweet, tropical, and super refreshing! It comes together in a few minutes. Let’s get blending!

Watercress has a really distinct flavor—powerful and a bit spicy! So it doesn’t blend into the background like other leafy greens might (like spinach), but instead, it contributes a punchy flavor. Jump to the recipe card for exact measurements—this is just an overview!

Watercress: Of course, we need this leafy green vegetable! If you can’t find it in-store, you can also use arugula. Orange Juice: This adds sweetness and lifts the other flavors. Feel free to use a pulp-free juice or one with pulp. Tropical Fruit: For a taste of the tropics, grab pineapple, mango, and banana. Use one frozen tropical ingredient for the best frosty texture. Vanilla Extract: This adds richness to the smoothie and helps mellow out the spicy flavor of watercress.

Making a smoothie is easy
