1 cup rice 1/4 cup black urad dal 1 + 1/2 tablespoon sesame oil  3 cups water 1/4 teaspoon fenugreek seeds 2 red  chilli 1 teaspoon cumin seeds 8 garlic Salt curry leaves few 1/4 cup coconut

How to make ulundhu soru with step-by-step pictures:

First, roast black urad dal till they turn aromatic

crush to make split urad dal

Wash and soak split urad dal and rice

Soak them for 30 minutes

Add sesame oil to the pressure cooker and heat

when the oil turns hot, add cumin seeds, fenugreek seeds, red chilli, and curry leaves; splutter

add garlic; mix well and cook till color changes

furthermore, add water and boil

 

add soaked rice+ urad dal; mix well and boil

furthermore, add salt; mix well and make sure nothing is stuck to the pan

finally, add coconut; avoid mixing

 

Pressure Cook  for 3 whistles and do a natural pressure release

Gently open the cooker and fluff the rice
